Waterlase dentistry, transforming your dental experience

With a highly-skilled team that has been specially trained in advanced laser technology, Tysons Corner Advanced Dental Center utilizes the extremely precise and gentle Waterlase Laser for many of their dental treatments. Dr. Osseiran and his team use a unique combination of laser light energy and water to create Hydrokinetic™ energy, which allows the cutting of tissue and tooth surface without making an incision. This technique is extremely effective and highly efficient, with virtually pain-free results that prove much safer than traditional procedures.
An incredibly precise and effect tool, dental treatments that once took several appointments to complete can be accomplished in just one visit when using Waterlase. It is extremely gentle on teeth and gums, and is designed to correct only the diseased part of the tooth, gum or bone. This eliminates the risk of damaging healthy tissue that surrounds the area, as can be the case with traditional drills. Because it is much less invasive than the drill, it minimizes the need for a shot or anesthesia, and healing time is dramatically reduced. Only minimal bleeding will occur, so it is safe for patients with health concerns such as diabetes or heart disease, or those taking blood thinners.
Gum Treatment and Lift
Waterlase can be used in a number of procedures, including: decay removal; cavity reparation; smile design; soft tissue procedures; periodontal surgery; and lesion treatment.
In addition to improving appearances, corrective laser dentistry can help patients improve oral health. Most adults experience some form of periodontal (gum) disease, often without even realizing it.
Gum disease causes inflamed, receding or bleeding gums, chronic bad breath and, ultimately, tooth loss. Considered to be one of the best methods of treatment available, laser periodontal therapy is fast, easy and comfortable, yet highly effective in fighting gum disease.
Laser Filing
Of the many treatments enhanced by laser technology, a laser filling is the one that will most change your preconceptions surrounding a visit to the dentist. In most cases, laser fillings require no needles or drills because the laser directly targets the decay in the tooth, meaning there is very little discomfort and bleeding. The laser also shortens the time of the procedure, and multiple fillings in different areas of the mouth can be treated in one office visit, which isn't possible with traditional drills.
Surgical Procedures
Procedures such as extractions and root canals can require extensive gum surgery, but with the use of new laser technology, Tysons Corner Advanced Dental Center is performing less invasive procedures that don't require the use of a scalpel or the need for sutures. The result: a significantly reduced risk of infection; decreased sensitivity for the treated area; faster healing time; and less post-operative pain because stitches are no longer necessary.
